A useful starting point in prayer is to think about the Trinity of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. St. Patrick used this image as a tool to bring people closer to God in the fourth century, and its value remains to this day.
Is there something in Father, Son or the Holy Spirit which you connect with? Perhaps the life-giving creative power of the Father which we see in nature all around us, or in the selfless love of the Merciful Father in Luke’s gospel. Or you may be drawn to a specific period in Jesus’ life: his birth in Bethlehem, his ministerial life, or his Passion. The Rosary is a useful meditative prayer in which we can enter into many different parts of Our Lord’s life on earth. Perhaps there is an aspect of the Holy Spirit which you feel drawn to call upon, such as peace, joy, knowledge, or wisdom.
