Bulletin - 14th Sunday - 5 July 2020

14th Sunday of the Year                                                                           5 July 2020

Guidelines for the Celebration of Public Mass in All Saints Church

It will be a source of great joy and hope to our parish community to know that we will return to the public celebration of daily Mass in early July. Social distancing requirements have greatly reduced the number of worshippers who can safely be accommodated in the church. All precautions are being taken for your safety, which is our primary concern, and we ask for your patience in these challenging times.

It is hoped that parishioners will be able to attend Mass once per month. Please note there is still no obligation to attend Sunday Mass.

After much discussion, the Parish Council has decided to operate a system of passes for Mass to ensure that everyone who wishes is able to attend.

We will do our best to accommodate those who work during the week with weekend passes.

The Pass System will operate as follows:

  1. Only one pass is needed per household as family members can share a pew.
  1. 2.      Passes will be distributed in St. Joseph’s side chapel by the Parish Pastoral Council every Friday evening between 6pm and 8pm, and Sunday afternoons between 2pm and 4pm. Next distribution will be 5th July. The first public Mass will be Saturday 4th July.
  1. Your pass will indicate which pew you have been allocated.
  1. Special passes will be available for the side chapel area for those with a disability, (and one carer), who are unable to sit in the main body of the church.
  1. It is essential that you bring your pass to Mass with you for identification.
  1. We are in the process of enlisting volunteer stewards at each Mass. They will enable parishioners to adhere to the strict social distancing guidelines currently still in place.
  1. A one-way system will be in operation, entering by the main doors and exiting by the side doors.
  1. If you have been shielding, or display any symptoms of Covid 19, or feel in any way unwell, we would ask that you do not attend Mass at the current time.
  1. Hand sanitizers are provided on entering and leaving the church. The stewards will sanitize the seats, altar rails and door handles after each Mass.
  1. Communion will be distributed in the hand only by the celebrant priest.
  1. Masses will be celebrated every morning, including Sunday, at 10am, as well as the 6pm Vigil on Saturday evening and at the 12.30pm on Sunday.

We hope to resume Mass in Crebilly very soon.

  1. If you are unable to use the pass you have been given, please return it to the box provided at the church entrance so that it can be redistributed. You will then be able to request a different slot.
  1. Toilets are currently not in use.
  1. There will be a limited number of missalettes available which should be taken home with you after each Mass.
  1. Masses will continue to be streamed live on Facebook for those who cannot attend. We will soon have a webcam installed from which Mass can also be viewed via a link on the parish website. You can also still tune in on CB radio.
  1. 16. The church will continue to be open for private prayer at the following times:

Monday-Friday 12pm-3pm. Mon. Wed. Fri. 6pm-8pm Sundays 2pm-4pm.
(Please note change of Sunday time.)

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Thank you and God bless.

Funeral services or Requiem Masses will now be resumed across the Diocese of Down and Connor, while observing the limits on the numbers attending to 10 mourners and observing social distancing regulations.

Spiritual Communion for healing of the sick

Oh, Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe that you are truly present in the most Blessed Sacrament.  I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come spiritually into my heart.  I embrace You and unite myself wholly to You.  Never permit me to be separated from You, and may your healing grace fall from Heaven, a blanket of grace to heal the sick, stemming the flow of loss of life and putting an end to this terrible disease.  Amen

Contributions to the Parish can be made in the usual way.  Envelopes can be left in the wall safe in the side porch of Church.  Otherwise contributions can be made by Standing Order.  Explanation contained in Bulletin marked Ways to Donate.

The parish office is closed.  It is not possible to book anniversary Masses at present but anniversaries can be included in the bulletin if emailed via the Contact button on the parish website – www.ballymenaparish.org

Remember:

Life is raw material, we are artisans.

We can sculpt our existence into something beautiful,

Or debase it into ugliness.

It’s in our hands.
